Building a better future, one child at a time

Parent Information

Our Goal

Our goal is to expose your child to a variety of experiences that will enhance him or her to grow and develop socially, emotionally, and educationally in a loving environment. We will achieve this by:

  • Providing a warm, loving, and nurturing center where your child's individuality is recognized and supported by a loving and caring staff.
  • Providing the Creative Curriculum to all our children. This curriculum teaches children through play and includes language, literacy, math, science, music, art, as well as social skills.
  • Promote character building, problem solving skills, manner; promote your child's self-esteem, and self-worth.
  • Providing a safe environment. Our building, parking lot, and three play yards are secured with locked gates and twenty-four hour security cameras. We have security systems at all doors, providing entry by authorized parents and employees only.

Child's Clothing

Children should wear comfortable play clothes and shoes that allow for easy movement. We spend much time painting, playing outside when weather permits, and working in sand and water. Washable clothing is advised. Shoes should be sturdy and soft soled and socks should be worn at all times. An extra set of clothing is needed and should be left at the center in case of accidents, etc. You may also send a set of “play clothes” for when we do painting or playing outside.

All clothing and outerwear must be plainly marked with the child’s name. If it is not marked with identification, the center cannot be responsible for lost clothing. Every child is designated a personal space for storage of personal belongings.Appropriate shoes are needed for playing.

Pick-up / Drop-off Procedure

When dropping off and picking up children, parents and/or guardians must turn off the motor of their car. Please do not leave children unattended in any vehicle. No parking or stopping in front of the doors of the center is allowed. This is necessary to be in compliance with fire regulations and so we do not obstruct the school because picking up and dropping off children.

All children including school-age children MUST be escorted from the car to his or her classroom, and left under the teacher's supervision. If a child will not be attending after school care, the center MUST be notified in advance by the parent and/or guardian. Repeat failure to follow this policy will result in termination of care.

Children must be signed in and out of the Hardy County Child Care Center. Only those individuals listed on the Drop Off/Pick-Up information form will be allowed to bring and/or pick-up children.

When a child has an accident that requires first aid, an accident report is written by the teacher. The parent reviews the report, signs and is given a copy of the report. All accident reports are reviewed by the director or assistant director.

Emergency Action/Disaster Plan

The Hardy County Child Care Center has a documented emergency action / disaster plan and all employees have been trained on the plan. Anyone desiring to review the plan may contact the director / assistant director.
